Today I'm sharing these pots I made a few days ago. 11th July 2024
I made ten jars in total, each can contain around 3dcl of liquid. On one day I made them, and a day later I trimmed the bottom of each jar. These are made as a commission for a friend, but I'm not charging too much... After they dry, I can fire them, and then I'll most likely just glaze them with transparent glaze.
The most annoying thing about pottery is definitely the waiting, also the constant risk of something going wrong.
What's good to know while working with pottery:
- Cover your pots with plastic so they don't crack like crazy.
- Open the kiln at room temperature, or at least bellow 100C.
- There are two main types of glaze - painting glaze and dipping glaze. And there's also underglaze, and on top of that goes transparent glaze.
